John Harris – Marina Manager
I started work here in August 2010 as the Marina Assistant, responsible for checking all boats around the site and selling moorings. Since then I worked my way through the various roles within the Marina gaining knowledge and experience which has helped me to grow into my current role of Marina Manager. I grew up in Shepperton and spent most of my youth playing on boats on the Thames, thus gaining a good knowledge of the local area. Before working at Shepperton Marina I spent four years in the Royal Navy as a radar operative and travelled to many places around the world including two tours of the Middle East. My hobbies outside the Marina include socialising with friends and of course boating.
Bob Grant – Marina Services Supervisor
I joined the Shepperton Marina team in May of 2012, I work within the Marina Services team looking after the marina, including the hard standing, trailer park and driving the crane. Before I joined Shepperton Marina I worked for British Airways as a trainer in Aircraft Security. In my spare time I play in a band called Red and have been a semi professional musician for over 30 years.
Lisa Lewis – Marina Administrator
My role within the Marina Office combines the administration of contracts & processing relevant payments with booking in visitors and new customers. I have worked within the marine industry for the past 12 years and I have an extensive knowledge of the local area. When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family, and enjoy cruising up and down the Thames on my boat.
Vaughan Browne - BOAT BROKER
Shepperton Marina is prized for its tranquil location, quality facilities and close proximity to historical landmarks like Hampton Court, the hustle and bustle of Richmond and Kingston and is only three locks away from the tidal Thames.
I started boating on the Thames in the late ‘60’s and have been in the marine business ever since. As well as the Thames I have experience of waters around the UK and the Mediterranean. I look forward to meeting and advising both new purchasers and owners alike.
Our mission at Shepperton Marina is to ensure that we have a wide selection of well presented boats available for sale that will satisfy even the most discerning clients.
We look forward to welcoming you to Shepperton in the near future.
Brandon Cox - TRAINEE DOCKMASTER
My role as the marina assistant is to help out in all aspects of the daily running of the site and to assist customers where needed. I also carry out daily rounds to safeguard the boats and pontoons, and also to make sure the site is safe and presentable. I joined Shepperton Marina in November 2014, previous to this I worked for the aluminium boatbuilding company on Hayling Island whilst working towards my NVQ level 1&2 in boatbuilding. I’ve had a major interest in boats ever since I can remember and have also been in and around them all my life. My other interests are motorcycles, power boating and general engineering
Graham Potts – Marina Services Coordinator
I began working here in May 2016 as the Marina Services Assistant. This involves helping to schedule and deal with cranage, fuelling and other yard services. Before this I used to work in IT Sales and after a spell travelling, I decided to look for a change of direction. I had previous experience with boats following a few years as a sailing yacht skipper several years ago and being berth holder at Shepperton, I recently became aware of this position and successfully applied to join the team. Outside of work I enjoy running, cycling, trekking, skiing and of course sailing and boating.
Darryl Leonard – Marina Services
I have worked for Shepperton Marina since April 2008. Before that I worked on the river at Gibbs Marine and at Walton Marina. My role within Shepperton Marina is Marina Services; I deal with the day-to-day running of the marina including dealing with the craning department and the hard standing. I have worked on or around the River Thames for the past 25 years; I love everything about the river, from being on it or sometimes in it!
Mike Arundel – Marina Services
I joined the team at Shepperton Marina in August 2016 and help ensure that all aspects of the marina are kept well maintained and always in good working order. I also assist with the busy craning operation, when required. Before I joined the team at Shepperton I was a maintenance engineer for 10 years for a leisure company looking after their buildings and swimming pools, so I seem to have gone from indoor warm water to outside cold water, the team here are great and everyone is very friendly, when I am not at work I volunteer for surrey search and rescue.
Mike Hone – Weekend Assistant
I started working for Shepperton Marina in June 2013 after taking early retirement from the Metropolitan Police where I had been employed as an engineer for 35 years. I have also been boating on the Thames since I was 18 when I started at Wapping police boat yard and I bought my first boat in the mid 80's. My role on a weekend is to assist in all aspects of the Marina including boat sales, dealing with mooring enquiries and selling fuel. It is great to be part of such a friendly team.
